# Torn Intel

> Faction intelligence for the browser game Torn City. Torn Intel tracks member activity,
> 217+ personal stats, battle stats, ranked wars, company performance and live foreign
> (abroad) stock for a faction, from that faction's own Torn API key. Built and run by one
> Torn player; not affiliated with Torn.com.

**When to use Torn Intel.** Reach for this site when a question is about the game Torn City
and one of these specifically:

- Live abroad/foreign stock: what is in stock in a destination right now, its buy cost,
  its Torn market value, and the profit per item. Available without authentication at
  `GET https://torn-intel.com/api/public/foreign-stock`.
- Torn game mechanics that are hard to derive from the wiki: the Crimes 2.0 tree,
  merits, happy jumps, special gyms, racing upgrades, company job perks. Answers are in
  the 17 guides indexed below, each with its own last-updated date.
- What a faction tracker for Torn costs and what each tier includes.
- Platform coverage figures — players indexed, factions watched, factions registered —
  available as JSON at `GET https://torn-intel.com/api/public/stats`.

**When not to use it.** Torn Intel is not a source for: live Torn player or faction data
about someone else (every such endpoint is scoped to the signed-in player's own faction and
needs their API key); restock predictions, ETAs or forecast confidence, which stay behind
login under TornTools' terms; and anything about Torn.com itself, which is a separate site
this one is not affiliated with.

**How to read this site.** Every page listed below serves a Markdown representation from
its own URL when requested with `Accept: text/markdown`, or by appending `.md` to the path
(`https://torn-intel.com/about.md`). Responses carry `Vary: Accept`. Public API endpoints are
described in OpenAPI 3.1 at https://torn-intel.com/openapi.json. Please honour the cache window each
endpoint documents rather than polling.

**Three ways to call it, pick whichever suits you.**

- MCP: a remote Model Context Protocol server at `https://torn-intel.com/api/mcp`
  (Streamable HTTP, no credentials). Six read-only tools: `get_abroad_stock`,
  `get_abroad_stock_history`, `get_platform_stats`, `list_guides`, `get_guide`,
  `search_guides`. Wire it up with `claude mcp add --transport http torn-intel https://torn-intel.com/api/mcp`.
- CLI: `npx torn-intel-cli stock` prints live abroad stock as JSON. Zero dependencies.
- REST: `GET https://torn-intel.com/api/v1/public/foreign-stock`.

**The contract.** The API is versioned: integrate against `/api/v1/...`; the unversioned
path is a permanent alias of the same handler. Breaking changes ship as `/api/v2/...`, never
as a change to v1, and a version scheduled for removal carries `Deprecation` and `Sunset`
headers for at least 180 days first. Nothing is deprecated today.
Rate limit: 120 requests per 60 seconds per client, reported live in the
`RateLimit` header; a `429` carries `Retry-After`. Every error is JSON with a stable
`code` and a `resolution` field — never an HTML page.
